The first residents have given the thumbs up to their new homes in the refurbished tower blocks at Riverside Dene.
Five of Cruddas Park’s 10 blocks have been brought up to 21st century standards as the council and its partners seek to continue the dramatic transformation of the estate.
A revolutionary biomass wood-burning heating system has also been installed which will help to lower bills for residents and improve efficiency.
Cruddas Park was renamed Riverside Dene in April last year as part of a £90m renovation of the estate, which has been carried out by Newcastle City Council, Your Homes Newcastle and Bridging NewcastleGateshead.
