Developers sought for £50m Gateshead Sports Village

Gateshead Council is inviting proposals from developers for the creation of a £50 million Sports Village at Gateshead International Stadium.

The complex will house an ice arena with spectator seating and an indoor ski slope as well as hotels, restaurants and cafes.
The council is proposing to sell the freehold interest in the site, worth up to £5.3m.
Work is expected to start in March 2012 and run for three years.
